Basset Fauve de Bretagne

After many years of owning German Wirehaired Pointers, we fell in love with the Basset Fauve de Bretagne.  This is an uncommon hound breed in the United States, originally from France and is still in the AKC Foundation Stock Service Registry. We began our journey in Fauves by importing lovely dogs to start our program. We are eager to use the knowledge that we have accquired over the years to help establish this breed, while keeping proper conformation, health, soundness and natural hunting ability in mind.  Primary Open Angle Glaucoma is a growing concern with this breed which is why we have made it our priority to ensure all of our dogs have been tested and are clear. This means all of our puppies will be clear by parentage.  We have 12 CHIC Fauves, meaning they have completed and passed the recommended tests by the Basset Fauve de Bretagne Club of America.  We have been extremely successful in the show ring with our Fauves and are already setting records.

Below you will find our Fauves. More
information can be found on each dog by clicking their name or photo.  Some pages are a work in progress...
